Tra Su Indigo Forest – One-day trip in Chau Doc

Tra Su Indigo forest is located in Tinh Bien district. It covers an area of about 850 hectares with an abundant ecosystem. Tra Su Indigo forest also symbolizes the beauty of An Giang in flood season. Experiencing the feeling of sitting on a sailing boat on the immense green duckweed, through all corners of the forest will give you an unforgettable memory.

When arrived at Tra Su Indigo forest, you will contact staffs there to buy tickets. The price is 75,000 VND/person. A motorboat will take you deep into the forest then you can take a smaller boat to admire the natural scenes inside and take photos. The best time to travel to Tra Su Indigo forest in An Giang is from September to November.

Hang Pagoda

Located on Sam Mountain, Hang Pagoda is an ancient pagoda build in 1840s. To visit this pagoda, you have to climb over 400 stairs. Hang Pagoda is associated with many legends that make it more attractive to tourists. The structure contains colors of Chinese styles with funeral tables which bear the deceased’s names and a little historical information about them.

Vinh Te Canal

Vinh Te canal belongs to both An Giang and Kien Giang provinces. It is also one of the way to cross the borders from Vietnam to Cambodia or vice versa. The construction of the canal was started in the end of 1819 according to the order of Emperor Gia Long. The project used about 80,000 local Vietnamese and Khmer workers. After the death of Emperor Gia Long, the succeeding Emperor Minh Mạng continued the project. This is definitely a must-visit on your trip to An Giang.
