Trekking Ba Den Mountain in Tay Ninh Province

Ba Den Mountain is a black virgin mountain which is well-known as the highest mountain (986) in Southeastern Vietnam. It is located in Tay Ninh province, 110 km far from Ho Chi Minh City. Ba Den Mountain is made up of 3 mountains: Heo, Phung and Ba Den. Trekkers who want to conquer all the tops have to go along the paths that are surrounded by dense forests, caves and rocks.

This is the highest and hardest mountain to trek in the South of Vietnam. That’s why it is one of the most favorite destination for those who love experiencing.

There are 4 paths leading to the peak:

  • The temple path (the shortest but the steepest, there are rocks that are difficult to overcome)
  • The electric pole path (the easiest and the most popular one)
  • Ma Thien Lanh path (the difficult and the longest path)
  • The white rock slope path (the hardest path, only suitable for those who are in good health)

It will take you 2 days to conquer Ba Den peak from Saigon. In the early morning of the 2nd day of the trip, do not forget to wake up around 4 to 5 am to see the sunrise. It is one of the most amazing scene you cannot miss when trekking Ba Den Mountain.

Trekking Lang Biang Mountain in Lam Dong Province

Lang Biang mountain is 12 km from Da Lat city and belongs to Lac Duong district. At the height of 2124 meters above sea level, Lang Biang is considered as the roof of Da Lat. To reach the peak, you have to go through primitive forests. The trail is quite clear, so if you follow it, you cannot get lost.

The best time for trekking Lang Biang is in the spring when the cherry blossoms bloom. Or you can visit it from November to the end of the year because it is in dry season. Climbing in rainy season is harder and more dangerous. You can also hire a guide with only from 500,000 VND (~$230) per day for the whole team.

Trekking Ta Cu Mountain in Binh Thuan Province

Ta Cu Mountain is close to National Highway 1A, in Thuan Nam Town (Ham Thuan Nam District, Binh Thuan) and about 30 km from Phan Thiet City. This is a beautiful mountain with green trees, forests and flowers reddening the whole sky. Everyone coming here should give a try conquering the Ta Cu Peak.

There are two ways to reach Ta Cu peak. One is to take a cable car and the other is to trek through 3000-meter trail amidst primitive forests. If you want to admire the real beauty of this landscape, you definitely should choose the second way.

On the top of Ta Cu mountain, there are two famous pagodas which are Linh Son Truong Tho and Long Doan. This is the place where the statue of Shakyamuni Buddha and Nirvana Buddha in a recumbent position with back against the mountain. This is considered one of the largest sized Buddha statues in Southeast Asia that has unique architectural art value.
