Ea Kao Lake – Attractions in Buon Me Thuot
The lake of Ea Kao is located 12 km southeast of the center of Buon Ma Thuot. It belongs to Ea Kao commune, formed from the blocking the streams of Ea Knin, Ea Kao, Ea Chat, and Cu Mblim to build irrigation systems for rice and coffee. Interestingly, although the irrigation system was put into operation since 1983, now, Ea Kao lake still has a wild and unspoiled beauty.
Under the lake’s surface is a diverse ecosystem with many species of fish and shrimp living in freshwater. Around the lake are mountain ranges lying next to each other endlessly and forests with rich flora and old trees.
Dray Sap, Dray Nur Waterfalls
Dray Nur Waterfall is located 25 km away from Buon Ma Thuot City along Highway 14, nearly 3 km from BuonKop Hydropower Plant. This is a majestic waterfall that nature has given Dak Lak.
Dray Nur means feminine waterfall. So the waterfall also has another name that is Vo (wife) Waterfall. Dray Nur is located right next to Dray Sap waterfall (also known as Chong waterfall) and is just a suspension bridge over the Serepok river way from Dray Sap. Both are beautiful and majestic waterfalls that you should not leave Buon Ma Thuot without seeing them.
Tip: Although these two waterfalls and Lak Lake are in the south, they are quite far from each other. So, you need to spend more than 1 day to explore all of them.
